well...lice /phm85 made a big post about missions today..kinda interesting timing, since i've been working with the moderators and NF this past weekend in some cheating hunting regarding this very issue...i gave NF a couple days for em to review my findings before i release them to the general public for review...so here it is..

The following is an excerpt of an email i sent to NF regarding interesting behaviors regarding to these missions, i cut the rest of the irrelevant stuff that I had to say to NF and just giving you guys the good stuff......

some ppl say missions is cheating, some say its not.. read on, and you be the judge.

So i was trolling through the harbor areas looking for missions, and among some legit mission games, I luckily was able to join a game hosted by Dido

http://www.giddieup.net/navyfield/upload/Image1.jpg

I asked and asked and got no response, and after around 5 min without
any response, I pulled up his record

http://www.giddieup.net/navyfield/upload/Image2.jpg
and that arouse my suspicion about this individual. 800 games and 20 loses? and none of the modearators seen him before???..mm..sounds familiar anyone??

I decided to tab in and see what was going on, and I saw what appeared to be scripted behaviors... It actually gives you a good 1-2 seconds when they create a game room to when they close the game from public, so if you time it, you can get in and watch what they do. After a couple games with the same individual, I finally confirmed that they are scripted games played by a bot...

So now I intentionally joined the game, and stalled by not tabbing.. This messed up with the timing of his actions, and this is what happens, and proofs beyond ANY doubt that it's not a human playing, as if me joining 10 of his games without him complaining about me not tabbing for 5 minutes is not proof enough already.

Every game, he goes to the bottom row, and the 3rd position from the
left.

Because i delayed its start, all the timing in the script are messed up, and here you see him dropping torpedoes into nothing.
http://www.giddieup.net/navyfield/upload/Image4.jpg

and again at here
http://www.giddieup.net/navyfield/upload/Image5.jpg

A human would not do that mistake again and again, unless hes the world's slowest learner.

basically the script does a horizontal L shape move, droppin torpedoes
at 2 instances and then retreading for a win. the whole process takes probably a minute.

So at one instance i decided to put myself in the spot it always goes.. when I did it, the game didnt start at all, and after a while the bot exited the game, only to start a new one.

The bot seems to alternate between 2 spots

http://www.giddieup.net/navyfield/upload/Image9.jpg
. and does the same thing in each instance.

so... do you still think missions are just an exploit? or a way for people to cheat?

some of the vets always had suspicions certain people were cheating. and even though we may never catch em on the act again, since they probably will not do it anymore. well...now we know how they did it.

Now, you tell me..is this still fair to the rest of us who play by the rule?

Yes
im 100% they are cheating
i've found a guy called "christmas22"
also doing this thing
i entered his room, and even team killed him, so that he lost speed and lanuched the torps in the wrong direction
it was kinda funny

i was planning to the send the screenshot to the mods, but i lost the screenshots =.=

i'll try to venture his room again, and hope to take some more screenshots

edit:
there are also 2 guy named "hardlok" and "tcpip" who did this, tho i heard that they were banned. I got the screenshots for "hardlok"

Well,

Whaddya know! I have been correct all along. Hmm.. no wonder some people do not want missions taken out of a Player Versus Player game. Truely odd isn't it? Personally, I think those that have "overplayed" missions should be banned permanently from the game period immediately.

That's totally an exploit and cheating. Funny thing is, I saw that guy in a game early yesterday today, and he was ranked below getting his first Solid bar, and now he's at 2 and a half. That's cheating, and that craps gotta be stopped. He gained at least 21 Levels in less then a day.

I knew lice was right from the beginning.....Doesn't take much to sit at your computer and see what the bot does, and then mimic it when trying to show you are legit.

I think the only mission that should be available is the noob mission. I have done a few training rounds with people I have brought to the game useing that mission. Even if you wanted to sit there and play it again and again, you would get next to nothing.

Everyone is hyped about being able to do this SOS mission now......I won't. I think that it is cheating. Even if you do it manually. In the gaming world and 'exploit' is the same thing as a cheat.

Doesn't matter much anyway. More times than not I get about 1k credits and 1k+ exp from my big battles. I'll stick with them.

Great work PJ. Now isn't that just a pain in the butt to know I've been slaving for over 7 weeks to get my LTs bar and a guy can do it in one day by cheating!! Those accounts should be banned. Thanks for opening up peoples eyes to this.

I can't belive someone went though that much work, time it all and script it. That guy is definatly a cheater. As for the missions them selfs they need to be randomized.

Nice catch papa.

Now we just need to ban these players.

Alright, this person is clearly cheating and abusing the mission system, but if someone wants to do missions instead of PvP(And they're actually doing it themselves(not botting)) it really is'nt a problem in my book.

I also agree it took much time to create the script. I would call it cheating. I have played for 3 months and have fought to get to my lvl. I play the game bad, sink many times, lately even get TK'd by some vets, but I do not cheat. They should be banned for this type of action.
