well...lice /phm85 made a big post about missions today..kinda interesting timing, since i've been working with the moderators and NF this past weekend in some cheating hunting regarding this very issue...i gave NF a couple days for em to review my findings before i release them to the general public for review...so here it is..
The following is an excerpt of an email i sent to NF regarding interesting behaviors regarding to these missions, i cut the rest of the irrelevant stuff that I had to say to NF and just giving you guys the good stuff......
some ppl say missions is cheating, some say its not.. read on, and you be the judge.
So i was trolling through the harbor areas looking for missions, and among some legit mission games, I luckily was able to join a game hosted by Dido
http://www.giddieup.net/navyfield/upload/Image1.jpg
I asked and asked and got no response, and after around 5 min without
any response, I pulled up his record
http://www.giddieup.net/navyfield/upload/Image2.jpg
and that arouse my suspicion about this individual. 800 games and 20 loses? and none of the modearators seen him before???..mm..sounds familiar anyone??
I decided to tab in and see what was going on, and I saw what appeared to be scripted behaviors... It actually gives you a good 1-2 seconds when they create a game room to when they close the game from public, so if you time it, you can get in and watch what they do. After a couple games with the same individual, I finally confirmed that they are scripted games played by a bot...
So now I intentionally joined the game, and stalled by not tabbing.. This messed up with the timing of his actions, and this is what happens, and proofs beyond ANY doubt that it's not a human playing, as if me joining 10 of his games without him complaining about me not tabbing for 5 minutes is not proof enough already.
Every game, he goes to the bottom row, and the 3rd position from the
left.

Because i delayed its start, all the timing in the script are messed up, and here you see him dropping torpedoes into nothing.

and again at here

A human would not do that mistake again and again, unless hes the world's slowest learner.
basically the script does a horizontal L shape move, droppin torpedoes
at 2 instances and then retreading for a win. the whole process takes probably a minute.

So at one instance i decided to put myself in the spot it always goes.. when I did it, the game didnt start at all, and after a while the bot exited the game, only to start a new one.
The bot seems to alternate between 2 spots

. and does the same thing in each instance.
so... do you still think missions are just an exploit? or a way for people to cheat?
some of the vets always had suspicions certain people were cheating. and even though we may never catch em on the act again, since they probably will not do it anymore. well...now we know how they did it.
Now, you tell me..is this still fair to the rest of us who play by the rule?
