Normal Engine.
4x 6"/ 50 BL Mark XVII D's.
1x4 torp launcher, 8 torps.
Rest of displacement into belt.

This will make you travel 2kn/3kn (37/46 fully loaded) slower than a normal full out armour whore Q with a heavy engine, but reduced weight from using light 6" guns and normal engine allow you to pack on almost as much armour and just as much punch.
The normal engine also allows for 45% longer overheat time so you can have longer bursts of speed.

The added torpedos make for a nice surprise for slow destroyers and and cruisers you happen to cross, because no one expects a spread of torps from a Q let alone a british ship.

If you have high enough torpmen I suspect the lvl28 3x21" Mark VIII woulndnt go amiss with 12k dmg @ 55kn over short range.

I use this setup, but with heavy engine.

heavy engine
front mounts: 1 4" triple turret and 1 dule 4.7" turret
Rear mouns: 1 4" triple turret and 1 dule 4.7" turret
(note these are all the light varient)
Armour: 5" belt
Crew: BO, 2 gunners, 2 support, 1 spare slot for extra crew as needed
Speed: 39knots, 50 knots overdrive

Close range special this is, great ROF of the tripples but with the burst of extra power from the 4.7s and yes they do range fine as the velocity's of each runs are near the same
