I just switched over to manual firie control. Any tips on using it so I don't get killed? I was practicing last night against a frigate. I'm afraid i'll go into a real battle and have my propellers handed to me! Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Practice mate, sounds harsh but that is all there is to it. Maybe get in and do some missions to get your range in. But this is what i do
* Don't change guns and ammo all the time as this will effect the range, so stick to the one type of ammo
* I turn off TDA after i have set my guns and angles, but turn it on when quick drastic changes are needed, eg swinging guns from port to stbd (use the Q and W keys) i turn it on. I am to uncordinated to use the shift key :)

I am no where near an expert on Manual and am myself still learning, so I hope those couple of tips help.

Start by just firing at max range until u get used to the aiming part. than move to half range, than figure out the tip of your guidlines, than angles 3-7, by now you should be ok at manuel

The most treacherous thing on manual is balistic graph. If you will fond one you will see:
If gun used cca below 15 degrees, the range grows linear.
Adding angle higher than 15 degrees brings less range than before 15, therefore you must put more angle compared to close firing. This is worst to master when you are a cl and dd is rushing you . You have to lower guns quickly. If you do it well, dd is dead. If not you are dead.
The 15 degrees is just an example. It maybe more on guns with more range, but this effect is below 25 for sure.
