View Full Version : Things that annoy me on (T)NF

I must mention here some things that really annoy me when playing NF.

1) Torpedos
Well i don't know what did game developers smoke when they made those torpedos, but id had to be very good, because the torpedo splash is something i would have never invented even if i was after 15 beers or so.

2) Blockshots
Ehm, same case as torpedos. Very good drugs you have.

3)High Angling
Maybe there are other laws of physics where TNF lives than in the rest of the world, but one thing i really miss on game is blocking HA whore. TNF must put this into game. Lvl 35 british cl could have it. They are so poor nation, they really need it.
OH MAN, HOW CAN ATLANTA WITH 5'' GRENADES KILL A BB? 5'' SHELL WOULD HAVE BOUNCED OFF A BB LIKE A SH*T AND DO NOTHING.

4) Favouring one nation
Again TNF shows it's ignorance to players and total balance in game. The favoured nation (Brits) have everything: blockshots, best armor, excellent guns, bonus to support sailors. Please don't complain how bad brits are. If you do it, you can't play them

5) Damage model
What a shame for TNF. Even Fighnting steel had better damage model than this crap. Shells hitting deck do same damage when hitting front, rear, control tower.

6) Anti Aircraft Defense
Oh it's really great to have only 6 aa guns on bc. Maybe it'd be good to visit some pages with historical ships and look there how many variable guns ca and higher ship had.

7) Retail
The last thing is retail. When I read TNF statement for the firs time i wanted to vomit. If you pay more, you will get more xp and credits per battle, Oh cool. Again those who have more money will get ships faster. And i hope this will apply to MW. Doing mission for 1k credits and xp, hahahahahahahahhaha.
Anyway this way loosers who will pay for their faster progres will suck at ca, bc, bb. Even CL's who make it to cl2 are terrible players and if they make levels faster they can end up at bb before they will be able to do something. I just look forward to when such a player greets his teammate with salvo from his bb when x-ing the line to rush enemy bb line and die gloriously.

8) I miss one payable option
How about to pay 99.99 USD to TNF and get 5 000 000 credits, 4 000 000 points, BB, Sailors to admiral level.

It seems concurence woke up and first game with similar topic will be out soon. I'm looking forward to Distant Guns. You pay once for the game and get free online playing, with more reality. Let's hope there will be a mod in time with ww2 and it will send NF where it belongs.

And i forgot about few things at the end.

9)Fighter pilots
I don't know what tnf thinks about speed of interceptors, but fighter unable to catch a dive bomber is too much.

10)Leveling for money
It's not for the first time in the retail, but for a some time in use. Gold bar player with a british armor whore who made 700 wins and 500 looses according report. It's very interesting how can someone make it so far in so few battles. Money, money, money. You can eat them all and stick you know where TNF.

If you made it to the end of this pile of sh*t, you have earned my respect as a reader.

May the NavyField R.I.P.

Once this game goes retail I most likely wont be playing, if it is like what you state.

7) Retail

That will kill this game in retail release.

I don't care if people get few more exp or has to buy premium ship with cash. But what i hate about this game is total lack of interest from developers in comunity.

It takes them months to fix any bugs.
It took them really long time to notice cv credits were reduced now they are investigating it (sigh)
People have been crying for balancing brits 8" duals and rp12 guns for months now and get nothing eept mods saying teamnf is checking if range was increased.

They can't even balance simakaze for 12+ months so they just made it limited veteran only noob ownage tool.

Nothing was said about what will happen to existing servers.

read the following details concerning this event and new N.F.

1) Navy Field servers are in the US

all those who have waited patiently all this time, thank you. (They will be opened by
January 31).

2) EXP gain rate increase by 50%
As we promised, we will increase the exp gain rate by 50%, so you will obtain your

we will increase the success rate by 30% on retail date. Also, if you still find this
unsuccessful, you will have an option to purchase 10 veterans for only $1. (You can
buy up to 100 vets per sailor)

4) Long free-to-try trial period.
If you are under level 30, then you do not have to pay to play the game. Navy Field
is free until you reach level 30. Please do NOT pay, if you are not eligible. If you do
not like the game then you can quit anytime before reaching level 30, NO
OBILIGATION.

5) Low Monthly Rate
There are two forms of Navy Field subscription services. Both services do not go into
effect until a player reaches level 30. What this means is that you are free to play
until you reach level 30. From here on out you can chose to select out of the
following two options:

Regular: A regular account will be priced at $7.99 per month and provide the player
an effective means to continue playing Navy Field. Only $21.99 for 3 month and
$41.99 for 6 month.

Premium: A premium account will be priced at $11.99 per month, and in addition to
providing further game play, players will receive an added 1,000 extra EXP, points,
and credits from each battle. Only $32.99 for 3 month and $63.99 for 6 month

In addition to the two available account choices, retail Navy Field players will have
the opportunity to purchase premium ships and sailors:

*It will be even lower if you go with 3 month or 6 month subscription pack.

6) New Game Modes Coming Soon
We are developing four new game modes, "Convoy", "Harbor Assault" and "Clan
War" and "Nation War" mode. More detail will be available as they are closer to
release.

7) Optional Game Items
We have made optional game items for a more enjoyable game experience. First, we
have made a sailor ability booster item. For $2.49, you can boost your choice of one
sailor's ability by 20%. This is not a temporary item. Once your sailor is boosted then
it stays in effect until you quit N.F. Second, we have made 2 premium ships for each
country. They are superior ships for their class, and we are sure you will love to try
them out. They are priced at $2.99 for CL class and $4.99 for CA class. Also, once
you buy them you can keep them as long as you want.

8) Payment Systems
We are accepting Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover credit cards via
PayPal. For those who do not favor PayPal, we also have prepared a Verified by Visa
credit card payment system.

9) Navy Field Grand Opening Event Details and Instructions

You will receive a number of NF coins as you purchase the Navy Field subscription
plan or items. For example, you will receive 10 NF coins for buying a one month

your coins on correct answers. Betting more coins increases your chance to win a
prize. You will have different types of prizes and questions every day. There is no
limitation for the number of participants and you can participate as many times as
you wish.

You know, its not all that much per month, actually cheaper than all other MMORPG subscription rates. But the simple fact that anyone can just buy their way through the game with real money is very sad. Whats the point in even playing and earning when the next guy is just paying real cash to get everything.

Very sad, such a good game. If its not a huge flop I will be suprised. Sadly, I will not be playing once retail arrives, even if its free till level 30.

I won't play neither when game comes retail and many people will do the same. If someone is going to pay 8 USD for this arcade he must be very desperate and if he's going to pay for sailors/more xp, he is insane (not meant you ins4n3).
From the Czech community 80-90% of people are going to quit, but before we do, we give'em hell :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D , you will see soon some cunduct reports :guns: .

Taken from navyfield.com General Forums
12: Why not a 1 time payment?
SD Enternet made calculations and said it would be more profitable this way.
Nothing can be changed about it.
You gotta love that statement...

The interest of making money is more than obvious. It's no more about covering expenses for servers but about packing pockets with $$$$$$$$$$$$$.
Just imagine i'm now lvl 59, have bc and it took me here 4-5 months. I don't know exactly but it was some heavy playing. Usually every day few hours, sometimes really lots of hours. If i had to pay for this i'd have never played NF. Maybe it'd take 4 months to get bc with account with this extra ex gain, but 12x4=48. 48 USD for what? Crappy arcade game more expensive even that new olnine games like word of warcraftw. No way I would play it for this money.
Most funny is byuing sailors. LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLL. Maybe players should pay money for each damage they cause. The more they play, the more they pay. :D :D :D :D :D
And how come one player is gonna get more xp? Let me show it on an aexmple. We play fome online fotball game, my forward scores and because i pay more, he scores two goals instead of one. CONGRATULATIONS WHAT A BRILIANT IDEA.

Another think to mention tnf released info that minimal number of players will be 20 to get xp and credits. :( OMFG HAVE YOU EVER PLAYED CL CA BB GAME. WAITING FOR PPL IS ABOUT 5-10 MINUTES. ANOTHER GOOD THINK THAT WILL HELP KILL THE GAME.

As much as I love Navy Field, I'll be goddamned if I'm gonna pay $8 a month for even the BASIC account.

This a great arcade-style game, but there are similar concept, 3-Dimensional Ship simulations such as "Enigma: Rising Tide" where you can get a bridge-level 3-d view of the world around you, lay waste to Nazi ships with american FFs and DDs, and sink enemy convoys.

This game would have been worth the $$ about 8-10 years ago when this style game was new and revolutionary. As it stands, here are my gripes with the game:

1) :bash: the XP scales are too steep, requiring players to work strenuously for MONTHS for little gain in equipment beyond level 40.

2) :bash: THERE IS NO SIMPLE WAY TO COUNTERACT THE RETARD FACTOR. People in the game are idiots, and not "tabbing up" delays the gameplay tremendously.

3) :bash: There NEEDS to be an "Auto Balance" button, and a command for the master of a room to auto start once balanced. By entering a battle, a player should be ready to battle.

4) :bash: The graphics are cute, and gameplay is decent, and with the proper fixes to numbers 1-3 of my problems, I'd pay the $8 a month... HOWEVER, there are ways to cheat by throwing money at the developers for higher-gain XP scales, more in game credits, and buying veterans. THESE "Premium" ACCOUNTS WILL BE THE NAIL IN THE COFFIN FOR ONE OF THE MOST INNOVATIVE GAMES MADE IN RECENT MEMORY.

The only reason why I still play is because this is a friggin' addictive game, and it's currently free. If these fixes were made, I'd continue, but the hell if I'm going to pay until then.

I heard last night before logging out that retail was pushed back to the 8th? Can anyone confirm this? I can't get to the NF site at work due to internet filters - they must expect me to work or something. :help:
