Me and kneegrow got into a conversation earlier about US gunners, he told me ability caps at 2000, so that once it reaches that cap 12 isnt really better than 11. That made me think reload/acc/reload like everyone says wouldnt be the best route for my pair of 11/12 US gunners (not that I really care, they are for sale). What made me decide to figure it out was when I mentioned that acc/reload/acc or acc/reload/reload seems better, he said something like yea right, I would take your advice over all the uber players...

I figure it wouldnt be hard to figure out exactly how much statisitics they would get from going reload/acc/reload like everyone says is best. I decided since I couldnt find a pen and paper and I was gonna need, and because of that I was going to type it anyways, I should post it here for everyone else to see and maby check my work if they feel im wrong.

My gunner Eagle is +19/+20 lvl 17 arm sailor, with 243/262 skill. Since they are a pair and within 10 or so skillpoints im only gonna do one, the math is the same.

Im going see what ability they would be at 42 and 65 un promoted, then for everyone elses sake, im going to see exactly how much the +4 +3 +2 would add to their ability to make it easy to see how different acc/reload/reload type combinations would affect their skills, and to see what would be the best balance for my sailors, up to 2000 ability.

*busts out calc*

I need to figure what he will be at lvl 22, so I add 4 levels times 19 and 20 gain, for 95 and 100 gain.

So my lvl 22 ready to change 11/12 arm sailor would have 338/362 acc/reload skill. This is the base number you need to figure, if you want to predict your gunners future it starts here (unless your gunners are higher than 22, then you start where they at)

338/362 skill at lvl 22 as is
718/762 Skill at lvl 42 if left unpromoted, +80 to what you promoted
1150/1222 skill at lvl 65 if unpromoted, +172 total so far to what you promoted first, +69 to lvl 42 promotion stat
1910/2022 at lvl 105.... to max acc too it would take
2005/2122 at lvl 110, basicly dont be a moron and not promote

My first idea to go Acc/reload/reload with 11/12 US gunners would go like this.

338/362 lvl 22 then +23/20 gain
798/762 lvl 42 then +23/23 gain
1322/1291 lvl 65 to +23/25 gain per level after.
2012/1916 at level 90, maxing acc but still 4 more levels to break 2000 reload.

To go reload/acc/reload like everyone says is best would make my 11/12 pair go

338/362 lvl 22, then +19/24 for going reload
718/842 lvl 42. then +22/24 for going accuracy
1224/1394 lvl 65 then+22/26 for going reload again.
1752/2018 lvl 89, but maxing accuracy at 2016 would take another 12 levels.

If I evened them out to 11/11 base by takeing 89 off reload (one per level ya see) it would make them 1752/1929 +22/25 at lvl 89, meaning 3 more levels to reach 2000 reload with them, again same lvl 101 to max accuracy.

So obiously that wouldnt be the way to go, but maby going reload first is still a good idea, going to check if reload/acc/acc would be the way to go.

1224/1394 lvl 65 then +24/24 takeing it to
1848/2018 lvl 91 to max reload, takeing 7 more levels to max accuracy to 2016

If the ability does really cap at 2000, its all pretty trivial once you max it, only thing that would matter would be experts and vets. According to what kneegrow heard, it stops counting up past that, I dont assume to know for sure but what level the sailor would reach 2000 is a good estimate of his overall ability.

Once you reach lvl 110 10/10 is no different than 12/12, but it does influence if you get their or not directly and indirectly. Directly by how many more levels you need to gain to max it, and indirectly by how good your gunners are while your getting all those levels...
