In retrospect the Fletchers are often described as the most successful of all American destroyers; fast, roomy, capable of absorbing enormous punishment, and yet fighting on. They fought in the classic destroyer action of World War II, the unequal battle off Samar, in which a few Fletchers and destroyer escorts faced the Japanese battle line; a few hours later Fletchers delivered the last US destroyer surface torpedo attack in the Battle of Surigao Strait. The Fletchers fought through most of the Pacific war, from the night battle of Guadalcanal (November 1942) onward. So successful were they, and so fondly were they remembered, that the first postwar mass-production destroyer, the Forrest Sherman, began as a project for an updated Fletcher.(2) :dance:

Just for reference the Battle off Samar came after the Battle in Surigao Straits. The action off Samar coming the morning after the night action in the Straits. Not that it matters that much.

I remember when the Fletcher could carry 3 70s. Those guns can wreck some shop on the enemy. Of course that was awhile back before the inquisition(nerf patches). Damn whiners!!!

well i still think it sucks how the z99 gets better xp than its cl and cl2. in american ships i get more xp as i progrees. and better creds. I always get at least 1k xp in every z99 battle.:)
See this amount of exp is hard to get in broolnyn in dd game. In atlanta it's impossible if you don't ha well, which will earn you ban from ca games.
Z99 is another sign of ignorance of developers. Instead of giving germans usable cl, they make ultimate dd.

thats a good quote. instead of a cl they make an ultimate DD. I like DD though cuz even though i get less creds a game than i do in a cl or a ca i can still avoid torps
When i played brooklyn i never had to evade torps. The amount of mountable armor was sufficient to have enough belt to be prepared for close combat and enough bulge to sustain full direct hit from fubuki and don't loose one hitpoint. And while tw players are usually stupid and they think everyone will flee before their ships, i used to play a game. I saw tw running on me, i started to run and fire back. When he was at the right distance i turned directly on him and rushed. If he was prepared (usually not) he fired some torpedos with little effect and when i had enough bulge he did nothing and then died quickly. This tactic was not to be applied on kitakami. It has too many torps. DD's kill it better.
Even bigger fun was running before tw's in sommers and HA-ing them with 5'' guns. They quickly broke the pursuit.

Nabisko, the Mpro is one of the BEST CLs out there in CL or CL/CA games. If you can't seem to get good XP in it then stop rushing and start using Manual, I am assuming that you are using auto in your overpowered Z99 and rushing. You CAN't use your CL like a DD.
