Thats just tooo much armor. I remember I did a full broad side into a Dido or a Sirius (can't remember which) in my Z52. My three, twin 5.9s only did 70-80dmg per round, so around 400 damage too it (normal HE). He took my damaged ship out (I had about 2500dp) in two salvos. Learned my lesson. I will only fire at a distance and try to land some rounds on their decks, or do a kamikaze torp run.

hehe i love my deck shots on those sirus and didos, the pop pop noise when your shells hit them at 90 degrees deck on gradual sounds like it hurts alot :P

To make it an AA Sirius...

Slap on the 5.25(A) guns (WARNING, you must be at least lvl 44),
Load (5) AAA binds, and a couple heavy HE just in case,
Set angle to 36º,
Set on Simultenious fire (F4),
Let's go kick some ass!

Your guns will kill planes in 1 to 3 hits, just remember to lead the hell out of the plane, and practice will make perfect. I'm already up about 200k just because AA whoring makes such good $$.
