Some questions that may seem n00b

Muzzle velocity... does it improve range or damage?..or something else?

in the guns what is SK, C and D value stuff:
(example: 2x 5" 45/SK C/38D )

I believe it effects both, range and damage (or at least penetration). I am not certain, however.

'SK C/38' I belive is a historical model number, similar to the American's " 5"/38 Mk 30 ". The 'D' is the NF type modifier. Guns come in 'N' (normal) 'L' (longrange) 'D' (rapid fire) and 'A' (anti-air) varieties.

The faster the gun comes out of the barrel, the more potential it has to do damage. It also effects range. if you switch from a 'D' varient to an 'L' varient, you'll need to change what angel you fire from your ship to hit people. it's a MAJOR difference

Usually higher level guns are better.
